Ray Arnold

One of Jurassic Park’s computer programmers/control room technicians, Ray Arnold was an apparant chain-smoker; he was rarely seen without a cigarette in his mouth. When Dennis Nedry shut down the park’s safety systems, it was Arnold who was given the bothersome task of finding out what he did and how to fix it.

After failing to get past Nedry’s hacker-style blocks, Arnold decided that shutting off the power would erase all he did, and then the system would come back on in its original startup mode. He was able to shut down the power from the control room, but to properly restore it, he had to go to the generator shed. He never returned. Upon going after him, Dr. Ellie Sattler found only his severed arm and the hungry Velociraptor that killed him.

Ray Arnold was played by Samuel L. Jackson.

Donald Gennaro

A lawyer representing InGen’s investors.

Donald Gennaro was dispatched to look into the affair at Jurassic Park following the accident involving the death of a worker. His employers wanted Hammond to get experts to sign off on the island, and Gennaro was sent to get Dr. Ian Malcolm. They thought he was “too trendy,” but decided to have him come along anyway.

Gennaro had no idea what was being done on Isla Nublar. Upon arriving, he was stunned by the sight of a real-live Brachiosaurus. Before, he was skeptical of Jurassic Park’s future, but after seeing the dinosaurs he became certain they could make a fortune with it. Gennaro wanted to make it so they charge up to $2,000 or $10,000 a day for visitors. However, Hammond made him back down by saying that everyone in the world had the right to see the dinosaurs, not just the super-rich.

Gennaro went on the tour with Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, Malcolm, and Hammond’s grandchildren. When the Tyrannosaur escaped its paddock, Gennaro abandoned the kids in a fit of wild panic, hiding in a nearby outhouse. This did not save him for long, though. While chasing Malcolm, the Tyrannosaur knocked over Gennaro’s hiding place. Taking one look at the lawyer, the dinosaur quickly gobbled him up off the toilet he was crouched on.

Donald Gennaro was played by Martin Ferrero.

Dennis T. Nedry

Jurassic Park’s chief computer programmer. Dennis Nedry was a grossly overweight, sloppy man who was very much disliked by his coworkers. He designed the system which ran the island, and was counted on by John Hammond to keep it up and running, with additional help from men like Ray Arnold.

Nedry, who was suffering from unspecified financial problems, felt that Hammond was cheating him by not paying him as much as he wanted for his job. After he had failed to persuade Hammond to raise his pay, he turned traitor and secretly met with Lewis Dodgson, who represented a rival genetics company of InGen’s. For a sizable sum, half up front and half on delivery, Nedry agreed to smuggle embryos of all 15 dinosaur species off of Isla Nublar for Dodgson. To do so, he had to shut down all the safety systems so as to avoid the electric fences and spying security cameras. With the power gone, the dinosaurs began escaping from their pens and killing people.

On his way to the East Dock to meet Dodgson’s contact, the merchandise in tow, Nedry wrecked his jeep. While struggling with the winch to pull the vehicle back onto the road, he encountered a cute, seemingly harmless Dilophosaurus. Much to Nedry’s surprise, the dinosaur turned vicious quickly, and spat it’s gooey black venom into his eyes, blinding him. Nedry scrambled back into the jeep to escape, only to find the Dilophosaur in his jeep waiting for him.

He was promptly killed and devoured by the dinosaur.

As for the embryos, the can they were in fell from his pocket during the struggle and was buried in the mud.

Dennis T. Nedry was played by Wayne Knight.

Robert Muldoon

Jurassic Park’s game warden. Robert Muldoon was from Kenya, and had been a long-time employee of John Hammond, working at Hammond’s animal park in his homeland.

A very cautious and levelheaded man, Muldoon was of the opinion that the park’s Velociraptors were too dangerous to be kept, and should be destroyed. He especially felt this way after a terrible incident in which an innocent worker was killed, despite Muldoon’s best efforts to save him. When the power went out, Muldoon took a gas-powered jeep at Hammond’s request and, along with Dr. Ellie Sattler, went looking for their stranded friends. They found one Explorer abandoned, the other crumpled at the base of a tree, and a badly wounded Dr. Ian Malcolm. The Tyrannosaur appeared, but Muldoon was able to outrun it in the jeep, getting himself, Ian, and Ellie to safety.

Later, when Ellie went to the generator shed to get the power back on, Muldoon went with her. They discovered that when Ray Arnold had done an emergency shutdown to reboot, it had turned off the fence around the Velociraptors’ pen, allowing them to escape. Muldoon covered Ellie’s flight to the shed, and then took it upon himself to hunt the alpha female Raptor. However, the hunter became the hunted, as Muldoon realized too late a second Raptor was beside him. He had no time to react before the animal sprang from the bushes and tore him apart.

Robert Muldoon was played by the late Bob Peck.

Alexis “Lex” Murphy

Thirteen-year old granddaughter of John Hammond and older sister of Tim. She and her younger brother came to Jurassic Park to visit their grandfather, and also to go on the initial tour of the park, since Hammond seemed to be specifically aiming the park at children.

A bit of a computer nerd, and a self-described “hacker,” Lex was amazed by the level of technology displayed in the Explorer tour car’s onboard CD-rom system. During the tour, she disliked the fact the Tyrannosaur was fed live goats, but was nonetheless disappointed when the dinosaur did not show itself at first. Lex was very nearly traumatized by the Tyrannosaur’s attack on the tour vehicle she and her brother were in when Donald Gennaro, who had been riding with them, abandoned them in panic moments before the attack came. Because if this, she at first refused to leave Dr. Alan Grant’s side following the ordeal. Eventually though, she calmed down and became her old self again.

After arriving at the visitor’s center and narrowly escaping death at the claws of Velociraptors in the kitchen, she ran to the control room with Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Tim. There, she used her computer skills on Dennis Nedry’s computer, and managed to fix what he had done by rebooting the phones and door locks, allowing the survivors to call for help. She survived the ordeal. Like ber brother, she showed up again for a brief renunion with Dr. Ian Malcolm at their grandfather’s mansion.

Alexis “Lex” Murphy was played by Arianna Richards.
